Remember when airline travel was something to get dressed up for?

I do but that was many years ago. My mom worked for Eastern and we got free passes to fly. My mom always dressed us up to fly because we were representing the airline. There used to be pride in appearance. The last couple of times I have flown, passengers looked like they were at the beach.

Of course, I remember when teachers dressed up and didn’t look like bums. I guess I’m old.

Remember when women wore corsets? Ah, those were the days!

I started traveling in 1966 after I joined the Marine Corps and flew military standby many times coast to coast.
I always had to wear my dress uniform - not cammos like they do today.
Later, I traveled a lot for my civilian job and I think the early 80s was when the standard started dropping.
Getting on some flights these days reminds me of third world bus passengers.
