Viva the New American Revolution!

The week just past was a great one for the New American Revolution — that guerrilla assault by alternative media minutemen on the amassed redcoats of the Empire of Lies.

Leading the charge was Internet publisher Andrew Breitbart. Breitbart, of course, exposed lefty New York Congressman Anthony Weiner as a lowlife and liar — but of equal importance, he re-established himself as the muckraker of integrity he is. After Breitbart suffered slanderous blackballing from left and right alike for his handling of the Shirley Sherrod affair, it was a genuine thrill to see him vindicated. Standing before the biased reporters he’d scooped once again, he challenged them, “The media says, ‘Breitbart lies, Breitbart lies, Breitbart lies, Breitbart lies.’ Give me one example of a provable lie. One — one!”

Less dramatic, but also noteworthy, Glenn Beck announced the launch of GBTV, an online video network that will run his TV and radio shows and other content when he leaves Fox News at the end of the month. The often-embattled Beck has recently been replaying some of his past political predictions on air — predictions for which he was sometimes called crazy and which have more often than not come true. It’s been a convincing reminder of what a truly invaluable and moral voice he is.

More. Ann Coulter released her new book Demonic, putting forward the thesis that the American left is the party of the mob. With all the hot babes following her lead into the ranks of the commentariat, it’s always good to remember that Coulter backs up her camera-ready looks with whiplash prose, rapier wit and dagger-like insight: a one-woman arsenal of democracy. The book has already rocketed to the top of the Amazon list.

And finally, Rush Limbaugh… well, look, Rush only has to come to work to make it a great week for the good guys.

On the other side of this truth-telling fusillade was a humiliated MSM in complete disarray. Desperate to protect the left from any damaging fallout from Weiner’s degraded sexual behavior, some major news outlets tried to play down the incident and NBC’s Today show even had “experts” lecture America on being too “puritanical” in these matters.

But just in case that sort of dishonesty and decadence weren’t shameful enough, the MSM ended the week in utter disgrace by unleashing a swarm of slavering reporters on the gubernatorial emails of Sarah Palin, a woman who currently neither holds nor is running for any public office. The New York Times, a former newspaper, and Democrat newsletter The Washington Post actually called on readers to help them dig for dirt in the Palin letters!

Like the original minutemen, the current media fighters for liberty are a ragtag and eccentric bunch. Breitbart’s pugnacious, Beck’s emotional, Coulter’s ferocious and Limbaugh is approximately as brash and unapologetic as an atom bomb. The MSM — fronted by anchors as dapper and haughty and “civilized” as the British of 1776 — have sought to use these character traits to demonize the right’s messengers without ever confronting their message. They have tried to turn the very names of these media revolutionaries into obscenities in order to discourage anyone who might be tempted to give their arguments a chance.

Maybe it will work. The Mainstream Media’s Empire of Lies is still an empire, after all. They still have most of the money and almost all of the air. The alternative media is still, as it were, taking potshots at them from behind rocks and trees.

But last week — man oh man! — it sure looked like Lexington and Concord to me.

Hopefully, this new media will mention ONLY those political parties mentioned in the Declaration of Independence, and Articles of Confederation!!!!!

“But last week — man oh man! — it sure looked like Lexington and Concord to me.”

Yes, but let’s keep in mind that the way to Yorktown will require no less patience and dedication than that which was needed to win the first American Revolution.

The hoary old media establishment will not go down easy. There will be no one-punch knockouts.

Can we children of today’s instant gratification society see it through to conclusion?

Are we, like our forefathers, willing to pledge “our lives, or fortunes and our sacred honor?”

I would love to be a fly on the wall right now listening to Bill Clinton trying to explain to Weiner why he should not hang tough and try to ride it out through a sex scandal.
