It will be interesting to see the rioters move into the posh areas

Not that you asked, but I think that rioters will stay pretty much in their own neighborhoods and eat themselves, first.

By the time, and indeed if they *ever* stat moving out into the suburbs, we'll be looking at martial law, anyway.

Now, what I do think we'll see is more crime in the suburbs - already seeing that, frankly. But full-scale window-smashing steal-it-all-and-burn-what's-left rioting? I'm doubtful.

Yes I remember in the LA riots the thugs stayed in their own neighborhoods. The only real resistance they encountered that I remember (besides the cops — but only when the cops had a sizable force in riot gear) was the Korean grocers.

I gained a lot of admiration for those Koreans who stepped outside without cover, firing pistols toward the rioters that were tearing up their stores. If only half the store owners (and warehouse owners) would defend their property with such vigor, the riots would be over before the first night.

“Not that you asked, but I think that rioters will stay pretty much in their own neighborhoods and eat themselves, first. “

But they already HAVE destroyed their own places; places like Brentwood and Beverly Hills is simply a new rich jewel to go after in the candy store of life. There is perahps more crime in the ‘burbs, but it’s a foretaste of where rioters will go next. Something is going to have to give and just you see if they don’t fan out into the posh places to get some real great high ticket items.
