HOUSTON (AP) -- An aide to wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords says the Arizona congresswoman could be released from her rehabilitation hospital in Houston as early as this month.
Chief of Staff Pia Carusone tells The Associated Press that the congresswoman may leave TIRR Memorial Hermann by the end of this month or early July. However, there is no set date for Giffords' release.
Her husband astronaut Mark Kelly has said she would continue outpatient therapy in Houston upon her release.

OTOH, those people in Gifford's district have the RIGHT to be represented per the Constitution, and they are not getting it.
Hoping that the resolution to this will be orderly.
I read in Wa Po the other day that Giffords BIGGESST problems now are her cognitive faculties - they just aren’t up to snuff. At least not enough to represent her constituents effectively.

Mark Kelly was a shuttle pilot long before he married Gabby Giffords. So was his brother.
He was selected for the shuttle (and named commander of the mission) well before the shooting.
There would have to be an election.
I thought, when this first happened, there was a regulation, either in the congress or maybe it is AZ law..that after 3 months the congressperson can be replaced by special election. There was another democrat, can’t recall if it was house or senate seat, that was out, maybe still is, due to stroke..
If they let the vegetable in SD be re-elected for a 6 year term, the Republidiots are probably good to let this seat sit for at least 3 elections.
He’s still no role model. They have scrubbed Google about his divorce, why? Mark and Gabby first met in Hangzhou, China in 2003 when both were members of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. They met again in 2004 after Mark’s divorce and began a long-distance relationship.
He was off in China with his congresschick, while his wife was home. A year later he’s divorced, and they “met again”.
Robert B Reich was giving toasts at his wedding. He’s nobody to admire.
As for his personal life, he has committed no crimes unlike Weiner and Clinton.
Unless the crew was already assigned in 2006, his wife was a democrat on the space committee. It’s right and proper to wonder how he got the assignment. There are many others just as proficient as he,,, and NASA has a recent record of corrupt political pandering.

Good point. No representation might be better than the alternative.
Even the dying Ted Kennedy was only gone 3 or 4 months at the end but states have two senators thus there was some representation for his constituency in the form of John F'n Kerry.
The 641,000 persons of Giffords' district have had nothing for over five months with no certainty, no end known.
He flew four missions. 2001, 2006, 2008 and 2011. Put on your tinfoil hat and make of that what you will.
She ought to be able to get right back to "work" soon.
That's OK - she voted wrong almost all of the time - almost in lock step with Pelosi - except when she got Pelosi’s permission to stray.
We in Tucson are probably better off with her lack of voting than if she were in DC...
