“Texas Gov. Rick Perry signed a bill today that asks voters to amend the state constitution by limiting government’s ability to take private property using eminent domain authority.

In a ceremony in front of the Alamo, Perry said land ownership has long been essential to the state’s way of life. He noted that many fighters of the famed 1836 battle thought they’d be rewarded with land for their service to the Republic of Texas.

If approved in November, the constitutional amendment would prohibit government officials from taking property and giving it to a private developer to boost the tax base.

The current proposal would prevent local governments from using eminent domain to hand the property over to a developer for tax base growth, but it would still allow them to take blighted properties.”
Homework done. This answers those that claim the Tollway was a land grab.

What has Palin done in the last two years?

I rarely use the term n00b, but you rate it.

Governor Perry holds office. DUH. He’s supposed to sign legislation.

Do not post to me about him. He is a friend of Sarah Palin’s. He is not a foe. She helped him get elected.

He just might be HER VP.

Try to learn.

What has Palin done in the last two years?"

She has been consistently Conservative. All politicians act Conservative when an election is approaching. Any Conservative legislation signed by Perry, etc., in recent months means diddly squat. (This is not intended as an attack on Perry.)

For starters, by helping Perry win re-election, she prevented a Governor Kay Bailey Hutchinson from vetoing the ED legislation... /g

BTW, in addition to Perry, as a result of the tremendous aid she gave to conservative candidates all across the country in the last election cycle, she's a major reason why Nancy Pelosi is no longer Speaker of the House, and new Gov. Nikki Haley in South Carolina could probably give you a clue, too, if you bothered to check with her... /vbg
