I don’t remember anyone with an R ever getting a pass for anything, but I do know a ton of dems in office now, for ethics violations.
I don’t know of any R’s that raped and left a woman for dead, in a drunken stupor in a river, went home to sleep it off, and maintained a senate seat till they died.

He used a government Blackberry to twitter himself all over the internet and police are now interviewing underage girls. He probably even did some of it on government time.
No! I'm not kidding! The Police in Delaware interviewed the 17-year-old girl about online contact she'd had with Weiner and they found no unlawful activity. He never met the girl in person like Clinton did with Lawinski and Kennedy did with Mary Jo Kopechne.
He appears to be guilty of very bad taste. To the point of being sick. But he did not break any laws, as opposed to Clinton, Kennedy, Rangel, Maxine Waters, and a lot of other Dimocrates. As Charley Rangle said, Weiner "wasn't going with prostitutes. He wasn't going out with little boys."
As far as things on Government time, Barney Frank's boy friend ran a prostitution ring out of his Government office and Barney Frank is still there.
You have to look at the Party precedents and standards. It appears to be, if the people are willing to elect, the office is theirs. The Dimocrat Party did not remove Clinton or Kennedy. Both committed felonies. both were excused of their crimes and allowed to stay in office. That's the precedent. That's the Party standards.
