Then you are not paying attention - Steele was running for Senate in 2006 and WAS NOT Ehrlich's running mate in the gubernatorial campaign against O'Malley; Ehrlich's running mate vs. O'Malley was Kristen Cox. The only gubernatorial campaign Steele was in was when he was Bob Ehrlich's running mate in 2002 and they defeated democrat Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.
It's hard to take your statements about Steele seriously when you knock him for losing an election he didn't even run in! I ALWAYS lose those!
Yeah, I guess I got confused a bit, didn’t I? I could try to say the fact that I couldn’t even remember which doomed campaign was which just points out how bad they both were, but I probably ought to just own up to messing up instead.
Nonetheless, despite having the campaign wrong, my recollection of it being an utter fiasco is still correct. Remember the “Steele Democrat” bumper stickers that were designed to give the false impression that Steele was a Democrat? And against a total stiff like Cardin, he still lost 55-44 (according to Wikipedia, and on a strictly objective piece of info like that, I’ll trust them).
Nor did his tenure as GOP Chairman indicate any type of political prowess.
