Barack Obama has come under fire for extending a formal invitation to a shamed African dictator who has ruthlessly plundered billions of dollars from his own country.
The U.S. President will today have a coveted private meeting with President Ali Bongo of Gabon in the Oval Office despite his appalling track record.
Bongos family has ruled the impoverished African nation with an iron fist for five decades and have used its oil riches to fund a life of outrageous luxury. Meanwhile one third of people in Gabon live on less than $2 a day and thousands starve to death each year or are forced to pick through garbage to find food.
Critics have pointed out that Gabon, with a population of 1.5 million, is the third-largest oil producer in sub-Saharan Africa.
They claim that the only reason Mr Obama has agreed to the meeting is that he wants to curry favour with an ally to secure Americas fuel supplies - regardless of who it is.

This president makes me sick. Obama probably hopes to pick up some pointers from this guy.
Birds of a feather flock together..
Did he send his wife along with 500 others for holiday in Marbella and rent a complete 5-star Costa Del Sol Resort. This doesn’t sound like he was sharing sacrifice with his people. Shame on this foreign dictator. Dinner is served.
High-power media-saturated push ahead for Black Power...just in time to energize the far-left vote for election '12.
Hmmmm, about 20% of American workers are unemployed (many have fallen off the actual count radar), millions have lost their home and vehicles as prices of gasoline, food and durable goods have skyrocketed. It's a leadership "takes one to know one" get together apparently. When's he going to visit Kenya? He seems to be steering clear of THAT nation.
An exit strategy, if you will.
Ali Bongo and 0-bongo....PERFECT!
Wonder how many million of our tax dollars Bambi will promise this guy?
That would be nice but i would assume he is giving Ali some more advice on destroying nations.
I think NObama is casting about all over Africa for a country to live in during his forthcoming exile.
He won’t be very picky, when he is one step ahead of treason charges.
With all the oil available to be drilled in the USA, especially the Bakken Field, no one can convince me that this meeting is about buying oil frm Gabon.
Most likely, NObama is setting the conditions for how much will be siphoned off by the Gabon government for NObama’s private retirement account.
Barry getting advice for when he has to leave the White House in 2012...All that “Stimulus” Money has to go somewhere!
Ali Bongo.
There’s a name that inspires confidence.
ding ding ding!
I think we have a winner!
Vultures of a feather...
“White House invite for dictator who has stolen billions from his impoverished African nation”
Obama looking for pointers?
He's got to figure once he loses the full POTUS Secret Service and diplomatic bubble some euro weenie is gonna file a complaint against him and Rahm in the War Crimes tribunals for all the Chicago-style hits from UAVs they made against those poor Pakistani and AhaF-Ghahan civilians. There's a serious possibility that he could face arrest like Pinochet and Mladic if he ever set foot on " This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. "

The problem is, the far-left and Black vote won’t be nearly enough... and there is no upside, as Bambi already has nearly 100% of both.
On the other hand, partying with murderous, grifting dictators doesn’t set too well with independents that are already sour on the Kenyan.
“to secure America’s fuels supplies”
How about DRILLING FOR OUR OWN DAMN OIL! = J O B S!!!
Hussein obviously looking for some pointers.
