I like how you think, but why do you have to put the POS down first? Wouldn't a properly launched trebuchet projectile do the job on landing?

I’m not convinced that a trebuchet launch/landing would kill him, at least not right away and there is an outside chance he might survive with severe injuries. Now a punkin chunkin air cannon would probably do an acceptable job; if a pumkin can be chucked almost a mile then an air cannon might be able to shoot him on a high arc to about a quarter mile. That should do the job.
I can see it now.
