Bush has actually been on the right side of the energy production debate and the Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac regulation debate all along. The President has been a feckless advocate of the correct positions on these issues to be sure, but at least one can legitimately claim that the administration was intellectually correct on Fannie, Freddie and oil. But he let Obama and the dems pin it on him out of a missplaced sense of presidential/gentlemenly decorum to the detriment of the of his country and the American people. He was not a fighter on domestic issues. He was a wimp just like his father.
There are times when we can tolerate wimps......but not now.....today we need fighters. e.g. Palin/Bachmann.
