Maryland police will not accept your out-of-state Concealed Carry permit, even if you are an off-duty or going-to-duty police officer or federal contractor who has a Q clearance if you tell them that you have it loaded in the glove-compartment. They will seize your weapon unless it is unloaded, ammo separate and in different parts of the car.

Some of these cops are anal-retentive assholes and don’t realize that CCW people, esp. other cops/law enforcement people are their best second-line of help in an emergency. They have now lost that back-up, possibly at the cost of their lives, thanks to a few assholes in Montgomery County.

One judge wondered out loud why Maryland didn’t have a cross-state recognition policy for both DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

My son is a combat veteran of Iraq and a federal police officer yet the Maryland cop won’t give him a break (my son told him that he had a concealed permit and weapon in the car). The cop couldn’t give a damn and had the weapon seized and it was never returned.

Maryland has turned into a marxist state under O’Mallery and you don’t know if you can trust the police anymore. I lived there for years and worked with the police. In those days they had common sense and appreciated the help that some of us were able to provide.

What a shame that the Democrats have fucked up another once decent state to live in.

I called yesterday morning. Spoke with someone in the Intelligence Section who had no idea that CCW holders went through a background check. When I told him that notices such as #12 make the Dept appear unprofessional, he got upset. Said he would not have a statement to make. I told him I wasn’t asking for one and hung up.

You can bet if I were an officer in a jurisdiction outside Maryland and I came across a Maryland officer carrying they would get the same courtesy they extend to out of state officers.

Cool story. There is just one problem. If your son was a Federal Police Officer authorized to carry, then he can carry nationwide, regardless of what Maryland says about it. (Supremacy Doctrine.) Second, HR 218 exempts all LEOS (Local, State or Federal) from State Laws regarding concealed weapons, regardless of what Maryland (or any other State) says about it.

So you see, things simply aren’t adding up here.

If true they are violating the federal 'Law Enforcement Officer's Safety Act of 2004' that specifically authorizes all cops, even off duty and retired, to carry guns anywhere in the country regardless of state and local laws.

“CCW people... are their best second-line of help in an emergency. They have now lost that back-up, possibly at the cost of their lives”

My grandfather saved an officer’s life once.

This was in Texas. A cop was arresting a man at a gas station and the thug quickly turned around and grabbed the officer’s gun. There was a life-and-death struggle on the ground with both men wrestling for the gun and the cop was losing.

My grandfather saw them. He was in his upper 70’s at the time, but he charged out of nowhere and body-slammed the perp like a linebacker. They sprawled off the officer and together they gained the upper hand and pinned the thug on the ground. The officer’s life was saved.

The officer was a friend of my grandfather for several years afterward until he went to be with the Lord.

There was a wake in my grandfather’s memory, and among the family and guests was a cop.

It is unbelievable that any officer would not want good and honest men armed.
