You’re right! If somebody is breaking in your door, shoot first and ask questions later.
That’s why (if I still had that gun that fell overboard) I would still be sleeping with it in easy reach.

Wrong response to a team of armed police, SWAT, etc. -- you'll end up dead and not one of them will even be wounded. I have a surefire way of preventing kicked in doors and gunfire if one should be kicked in.
Mentioned idea to retired military commander who agreed and then said I was crazy. One should not be living in such a way as to have one's door kicked in. However, if one is doing something that might lead to a kicked in door, a way exists to stop it (especially the next time -- you won't be there, but the newly recruited armed force (previous armed force will not be there either) will not kick in the door in that area).
