I don’t know how anyone can compare the two. Margaret Thatcher would never have said “golly gee” or “you betcha”, nor would she be stumped by a question from the dimwit Katie Couric, nor would she have lowered herself to respond to snarky remarks - especially not with juvenile comebacks.
Margaret Thatcher is a sophisticated, dignified, tough lady. SP is a lightweight, and I fail to see why people are so enthralled with her. If she can’t even answer a simple question about who her favorite founding father was, how is she going to survive on the campaign trail?
No, that was really, really stupid. Everyone knows that Lincoln wasn't one of the Founding Father....oh no, that wasn't Sarah Palin who said that, was it?
Who did she chose? FDR? Mentioning his televised speech to the nation as he ascended the presidency in 1932? No, that wasn't she either.
Hmm, so who did she chose, and why did she chose him? George Washington was her choice; the reluctant statesman; the man who had rather wanted to live a quiet life, but who was called by the Nation. The man who willingly resigned the reins of power rather than having to be forced from the "throne". Quite an interesting choice, and a very interesting reason for chosing him as her favourite Founding Father, wasn't it?
The Baronness is British. Governor Palin is American. Two countries separated by a common language.
I’m voting for an American, not a Brit. You betcha!
