We should be so lucky to have a President Bachmann.

She has not shown leadership skills here. Picking a Karl-Rovian Sarah-Bashing Washington insider to run her "outsider" campaign was a stupid move. She has alienated her base. She's toast.

Prove it Michele, and fire that little asswipe Rollins.

If not - empty words. If the guy you hire does not reflect your opinions, there is only one thing to do.

Free Republic is the pulse and voice of the Tea Party movement.

Yes and No. FR was around long before the Tea Party. It is the Conservative voice of the Internet.

It shows a tremendous lack of executive acumen to pick a Washington insider hack to run a campaign that is supposed to represent the tea party outsiders.

Probably because she has no executive experience to begin with.

There's a reason Americans don't elect senators as president. The last one before Obammy was JFK.

Can one of our "graphic guru's" put Rollin's head on this picture. I'd love to have a matching book end for my Rove/Collins collection.

Such pics are great for these threads ...

“Too late.”

Yep, the damage has been done to her, closing the barn door after the horses got out, is way too little, too late.

"Sorry, damage has been done and MB exposed as a stalking horse for Romney to dilute Sarah’s support in exchange for VP slot with the Myth."

Nonsense, the whole Rollins thing was more than likely his way of changing the media's attention from whether Sarah was right about Paul Revere back to the campaign. The lack of attention going to the campaign during this period hurt the lesser known candidates like Bachmann far more than it did Romney.

This is equivalent to Weiner sending out a staff person to ‘apologize’. Michele needs to dump Rollins, disavow his comments and make a personal apology to Sarah Palin. Is she doesn't, then both she AND Rollins are history.

If there was any question that Michele Bachmann's candidacy for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination was an attempt by the GOP hierarchy to 'stop Sarah Palin', this bland response to the blowback from Ed Rollins diatribe against Palin issued by a staffer and with not a peep from Bachmann, herself, erases all doubt. I contend that Bachmann was offered the VP spot on a Romney ticket - and went for it, assuming that if the RNC is working against Palin and for Romney, their pet, he is bound to win the GOP nomination. Bachmann has made a gigantic error, ignoring the fact that the TEA party is not some one-off, flash-in-the-pan group but a large contingent of very angry, patriotic Americans who are fed up to the eyeballs with 'politics as usual' and especially, the GOP 'elites' that think Sarah Palin isn't 'worthy' of their imprimatur.

With this move, Bachmann will soon find herself bereft of conservative support - and rightly so. Our great nation is imperiled by Obama and his Marxist/Alinsky policies. Sarah Palin remains the only solid conservative with a good chance of defeating Obama in 2012. She isn't power-hungry, just loyal to her country. She can continue to reap large financial rewards and avoid a lot of vicious attacks from the left (and right, in some cases) by sitting on the sidelines in the 2012 presidential election. I doubt Palin will do so. She is a fighter and she will fight to regain the White House for the people, not the political cronies and 'insiders'. This is what the GOP elites fear, with good reason, and why Michele Bachmann is being (willingly, I assume) used to block a presidential run by Sarah Palin. It will fail, as it should..

I have to admit, I don't understand. Not writing her off yet, but I don't see how she can recover here . . .

“Too late.”

Yes it is. If this is MB’s response, she has ratified Rollins’ provocative statements.

Sorry, you’re simply wrong and 99% of the posts agree with my position.

MB is teaming with Myth Romney to dimish Sarah’s support in exchnage for VP slot.

MB sold her soul to the Myth.

I don't know if I buy your conspiratorial assessment of Bachman. Her behavior could just be a manifestation of the egotism so common among career politicians. I do, however, agree that she made a fatal mistake in hiring an attack dog to hit a fellow conservative. I would like to have seen Bachman, Palin, and Cain pledge to support whomever among them had the most support, and to oppose giving the nomination to anyone like Romney who cannot possibly attack 0 on socialized medicine.

The survival of our republic is at stake. The cause is greater than the ambition of any politician. Palin, Bachmann, or Cain would all make great leaders. There will be a place of honor in history for anyone who turns the tide against socialism. Remember the great ones among the Founders who never held any high office, like Franklin and Paine.

The truth of an assertion is not determined by how many people agree with it. Such deals are almost never made this early in a campaign. It usually happens after the first few primaries when it is clearer who the players. The notion that "MB is teaming with Myth Romney to dimish Sarah’s support in exchnage for VP slot" is merely unsubstantiated speculation.

Sarah jumped into the fray and took some of the spotlight off the campaign and the campaign operative of one of the underfunded and lesser known candidates decided to take a shot. It is no accident that one of the legs of Palin's "tour" coincided with Bachmann's planned announcement to enter the race. That means she was personally impacted. Did Bachmann supporters claim that Palin was working for Romney when she did that?

Sad as I like Michele Bachmann. Think she is/was one of our rising stars.

But, she has pulled a Gingrich. Hardly out of the starting gate and tripped over Rollins and landed face first on the political pavement.

She's not making a very graceful recovery at all. Very disappointing.
