You could be right, but at this early stage of the race, I refuse to be so pessimistic. Too depressing. Besides, saying Herman Cain, Jim DeMint or Allen West isn't electable reminds me of the naysayers saying the same thing about Sarah Palin. Never say never. Saving the Country is too important.

On the other hand, it would be a false equivalence to take a dynamic, notably successful governor who had reached 90% approval in an independent-heavy state, was the only VP candidate in history to have moved a ticket into the lead and is thoroughly vetted and experienced at the national campaign level and has two decades of tough, mostly successful, election experience—with alternate candidates whose basic biographies don’t match the presidential profile.
That equivalence is just what the old guard would like us to fall into.
