Iran's nuclear energy chief and Vice President Fereidoun Abbasi was quoted Wednesday by the official Iranian IRNA news agency as saying Tehran plans to soon set up the more advanced type of centrifuges, suitable for higher-level uranium enrichment, at the Fordo site near the holy city of Qom in central Iran.
Fordo was long kept secret and was only revealed in 2009. It was built next to a military complex to protect it in case of an attack.

First, they said they wouldn't enrich beyond fuel grade. Then, they said they'd go beyond 5% for "medical applications." If they're now admitting to 20% enrichment publicly, you know the actual figure is weapons grade.
Not surprising this regime would set up this important site in Qom. From what I understand, that is the city where the Madhi went into hiding and will supposedly reappear.
If civilization allows the cult of death that is islam to acquire nuclear material it may well result in the death of tens of millions............
And Obama's support of Ahmadinejad as he violently put down the Green Revolution makes this much more likely. Contrast Obama's actions against Libya vs. his empty words and statements against Iran.
Qom or Ghom, is a city where traditionally Shia (12ers) Islamic seminaries in Iran are located. IOW, Qom is the major (official) hub of Iran's Islamic world. You know, those ruthless centuries old guardians of Shia (12ers) Islam in Iran - ayatollahs such as Khomeini included.
In terms of 'holiness' Qom is it. Similar to Mashad in Khorassan province of Iran, where there is the shrine of the 8th Shi'ite Imam Reza. The latter attracts many Shia pilgrims from around the world. Think Mecca (S. Arabia) on a smaller scale.
If true about uranium enrichment site, military complex & Qom, well, it could potentially mean hitting 3 for price of 1 - tho it can't be touched, it is considered a "holy" place by some very "important" people around the world.
We never intended to stop them and neither did Israel. Get used to a Nuclear armed Iran.
