I would like to know who in the HPD decided to take the sloppy false report and bring it to the attention of West Point. Just what make them think it was their job to do that?

Speaking from experience, I can say the police will take whatever report someone comes in and files. You can walk in and make a complaint against your neighbor, and he will be arrested on the basis of your claim if he is unable to provide an explanation of merit to the arresting officers. It’s up to the courts to sort it out from there. They are off the hook. Unfortunately, once in the system, it’s hard to prove a negative and a security tape is not running 24-7 in the vicinity of the majority of incidents.

Our Cadet, unfortunately, was unable to speak for himself at the time, and the police simply wrote down what those who were still able to speak had to say. I cannot tell you how often that occurs. You would be shamed to know. He has the great blessing of an involved lawyer who knew where to dig and had the impetus to do so (i.e. money). I do not wish to abuse the police in this instance with the possible exception of posing for photos over the blood of our Cadet with a celebrity. That shows a lack of class from start to finish.
