Navy relieves No. 2 officer on aircraft carrier

– Mon Jun 6, 4:03 pm ET

NORFOLK, Va. – The Navy says the second in command of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower has been relieved of his command following an investigation into an improper relationship.

Capt. Robert Gamberg was removed from the post by Rear Adm. Ted Branch on Monday. In an administrative proceeding known as an Admiral's Mast, Gamberg was cited for conduct unbecoming an officer and for failure to obey an order or regulation.

“This could be the beginning of a big slide in discipline in the services.”

There are more senior officers {percentage} retiring in the military this year than at any time in our history. My son {Navy Captain} is one of them.

Many don't want to deal with the repeal of "don't ask don't tell" and queers run amok.

Wow. I have known about this for two weeks. It was all over Norfolk news. Plus I know somebody on the ship. But still it was on Norfolk news a day or two after a friend told me and national news picks it up two weeks later.....lol. And the media think that they are great.

Wow really. Where is the proof of this? The Navy is having a board this summer to get rid of over 100 Captains because they are staying too long. Are you sure you got the info right or did you just want to add to the dramatic?

SONOBUOY PING!

Click on pic for past Navair pings.

Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.

Cool. Congratulations to your son and your family. That is fantastic. I retire on 30 June! It is an incredible feeling. I did 24 years which was great but it is sad to see what is happening to the military.
