A week after claiming a hacker had posted a lewd photo to his Twitter account, U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner on Monday apologized for lying about the ordeal and admitting carrying on inappropriate relationships with several women he'd met online. Weiner, a New York Democrat, said he is not resigning his seat, nor is he planning on separating from his wife. But he said he took responsibility for his actions -- both the relationships and for lying about sending the photo of his bulging underwear on his Twitter account.
"To be clear, the picture was of me, and I sent it. I'm deeply sorry for the pain this has caused my wife, and our family, my constituents, my friends, my supporters and my staff," he said, claiming he'd posted the Twitter photo accidentally as a "joke" and then "panicked." "I lied because I was ashamed at what I had done, and I didn't want to get caught."
Weiner described his actions as "dumb," "destructive" and "deeply, deeply hurtful" -- both for his admitted cover-up and for carrying on relationships with six women he'd met online, mostly via Facebook....

Crissy Mathews has a Dem strategist on saying he should resign! Poor Crissy..
Weiner wing now under construction at Clinton Library.
I anxiously await the next edition of the DUmmie FUnnies.
Weiner is an idiot. As are all democrats
I don’t blame the guy. His wife probably won’t have anything to do with him when the hildabeast is in town. Heh! Heh!
I think he’s golden now. As long as he didn’t do anything that is technically TOO illegal no one can really pressure him to resign.
Being a sleeze or hypocrite is not against the rules of the House.
Weiner admitted that he was not frank
Weiner survives this in his dreams. I’m betting 48 hours before he is hounded out. The Dems will have to cut him loose to save themselves.
He's got to put the period at the end of the sentence," the Democratic source said before Weiner's confession. "It's painful."
... and the double standard marches on....
Every person ever charged with purjury should use “I was ashamed” as a defense.
Glenn Beck said today if he isn’t kicked out now, he never will be. Of course, his liberal supporters are trying to keep him in office. Hillary won’t be speaking out but you can bet she’s right there ordering others to because if he is out then so is Huma... and we can’t have that.
He needs to step down. The guy tried to frame people for his own indiscretions.
Now he needs to apologize for calling that CNN reporter a “jackass.”
Anthony “Tony the Tube” Weiner swings it about. CNN ducks and Mathews gets a tingle up side his head.
Public refusal to resign usually means we’re down the the last few days...
