I posted the caption that was under the photo and would have posted any caption that was directly under the photo.

So, yeah, you're right in that you posted the caption as it existed on that particular article. Big whoop!
You're wrong though in that you didn't give the article title which would have avoided the grief you're catching and you're wrong in that you used an older story for a reference.
