Interesting bait choice. An old country vet advised me to use molasses and peanut butter, which also worked a treat with coons and possums. The one time I used cat food I got a cat.

LOL... I also trapped a cat once.

They love marshmallows and the cat food was handy.

Try junk food like Twinkies or somesuch thing.

Smart animals like cats won’t want them.
