I disagree. Pretending to be an academic bore with an oh-so-solemn approach to every issue will lose her entire constituency and gain her nothing. One can be extremely serious about right and wrong, and about policies that have been shown to work vs. those known to fail, again and again, without a serious "image."

The Democrats want us to run a bore who will play the "government must be the solution" game with their candidate.

Governor Palin's life experiences make her uniquely qualified to venture into various venues and fit in.

She owns and rides a bike. Believe me, the brotherhood and sisterhood of bikers is strong.

She and her husband own a fishing business. She can go into a New Hampshire fishing town and speak authoritatively about the industry.

Special needs children, rank and file union membership, public school teachers challenges (per parents), energy policy, ethics in government and on and on.

Like her or not. Agree with her or not, one thing that is not arguable is she connects with Middle America like no other Republican candidate since "you know who".
