True or not, this story isn’t designed to help the war effort. A similar story about pig greased bullets was floated in 1857 British India. It helped ignite the very costly Sepoy Rebellion.

Pig fat (bacon grease) is a great lubricant and a great cooking oil.
If you want to cook eggs with no sticking, simply use bacon grease. Blot the oil off the egg with a paper towel.
It is also a very good bullet lube. It was used for many years until replacement synthetics were discovered.
