Thanks for the update. I posted a thread about it.

Don’t read much do you. Context pointed out here.

You are just plane wrong. As Jesus says, "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full."
The hypocrite prays in front of a stadium using a microphone.
READ the words you post. Note the emphasis to be seen by men. Even bother to ask why? Why did Jesus refer to them as 'hypocrites' doe eyes? Do you even know the definition of what a "hypocrite" even is???? I wonder from your response. What 'reward' were they seeking? And just WHO is Jesus referring to? These are all the components of the CONTEXT you are missing via your cherry picking. Go all the way back to MT 6:1 and start there.
The hypocrite prays in front of a stadium using a microphone.
Like I said - you don't even know the definition of the word.
You somehow seem to have left out ALL of the other verses about prayer in the bible, to come up with this twisted rationale.
The Alinsky stuff?
The prayers of the MORMONs have strengthened the THREAD that is holding our Constitution!!
A very attractive blonde arrived at the airport. At the check-in desk, she proclaimed, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, and I'm going to New York City!"
The ticket agent just smiled and handed her a boarding pass.
The excited young woman boarded the plane and sat down in the first empty seat she came to. (in first class). A few minutes later another passenger boarded the plane only to find this woman in his seat.
He said, "Miss, excuse me, but you're in my seat."
She said, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, and I'm going to New York City!" and refused to move.
The man gestured for the flight attendant.
The flight attendant approached the woman and said, "Excuse me ma'am, but may I see your boarding pass? I believe you are in someone else's seat."
The woman handed the boarding pass to the flight attendant, who then said, "Yes Miss, I'm sorry, you have a ticket for coach and this is a first class seat."
The woman just said, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, and I'm going to New York City!" and she refused to move.
The flight attendant, getting a bit annoyed by this woman's refusal to cooperate, reported the incident to the cockpit. The co-pilot said, "Let me try."
So he went to the woman and said, "Ma'am, I'm the co-pilot. You're in someone else's seat. I'm going to have to ask you to move back to your own seat."
The woman just grinned and said, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, and I'm going to New York City!" Again she refused to move.
The co-pilot, confused about what to do next, returned to the cockpit and explained the situation to the pilot.
The pilot said, "My wife is a blonde, let me give it a try."
So the pilot got up from his seat and went to the woman.
He said, "Hello Miss. I understand you're on our New York flight today. The problem is that you have a coach ticket and this is first class. We'd like to be able to make an exception for you but unfortunately we have a full plane today. I'm going to have to ask you to go to your assigned seat."
As before, the woman just grinned and said, "I'm blonde, I'm beautiful, and I'm going to New York City!"
Then the Captain leaned down and whispered something very softly to her.
The woman immediately jumped to her feet and said in an angry tone, "Well, DUH! No one told me! and then she immediately proceeded toward the back of the plane.
The co-pilot and the flight attendant were amazed. Once the Captain returned to the cockpit, they asked, "What in the world did you say to her?"
"It's simple really", the Captain said. "I just explained to her that the first class passengers weren't going to New York City."
So you chose to ingore Jesus?
From Mathew.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Why not just pray in private before you go to the graduation?
Is it because you need others to see you pray?
Well, keep reading grasshopper - you may yet gain wisdom. Now read what you wrote closer. Did Jesus condemn those who pray publicly to honor the Lord? Again WHO were the people seeking public honors and attention regarding their 'righteousness'.
As shown earlier - it IS appropriate to pray in public to dedicate and honor the Lord.
Is it because you need others to see you pray?
No, do you desire to silence prayer honoring the Lord because you don't want others to hear or participate in honoring the Lord publicly?
Liberals and atheists make your arguments doey - keep reading and thinking and you will see the emptiness of the argument you parrot.
