The wife should have gotten 200 or more years too, IMO.
Yeah. Life sentences, until some federal judge decides their cells aren’t comfy enough and orders the state to release them.
Why wasn’t this a federal civil rights case? The 14th ammendment outlawed slavery.
She hated the birth of her children?
What will all this cost? Are we not in the middle of a huge depression with an existing huge debt?
“Get your lottery ticket here! $5 per entry. Winner shoots Phillip Garrido in the crotch, runner up then gets to shoot him in the head.”
Huge savings to the taxpayer, huge deficit reduction - a happy ending. Can no one besides me think out of the box?
I read this article, It’s so sad. This girl lost her life, raising her kids knowing they’re the spawn of this evil guy. It’s beyond comprehension. God Bless her and her 20 mil she got. It’s deserved. After all this parole mess that happened.
OK, looked the dude up. In 1977 he started serving a 50 year federal sentence...and was paroled after 11 years. WHY?! If he had been kept in jail, this whole thing would never have happened. Incredible.
They’re both evil. But somehow I hold the wife in more contempt for going along with it. For some reason the women that attatch themselves to evil men (ala mob wives or dictator wives) bother me more than the monsters they end up with. I’m not sure if that makes sense but I had to get it off my chest and see if anyone shared that viewpoint or if I’m just nuts.
a sentence of 431 years to life?
Poor Jaycee and her poor family. I bet it was hard to decide if being raped and immediately murdered was the better deal for her. Thank G-d though that she did get freedom and can live a good life from now on. G-d bless her and her daughters and family.
Garrido’s earlier violent rape victim told her story today on KFI radio ( and will do it again on the John and Ken show soon this afternoon). This man was a very vicious and violent creature with absolutely no concern for his victims. She was very lucky to escape him when a cop found the warehouse he took her to.
I too wish the wife got 300 or more years. After all, every single day she could have allowed Jaycee to escape, but she did not, for 19 years.
Both should have been executed.
