It’s a good way to make money. And by law-abiding, you mean “people breaking the seat belt law”.

I got nailed for not completely stopping at a stop sign. Everyone in the car thought I stopped but I wasn’t sure. So I paid the fine. Now I make sure to stop. Make sure you wear your seat belt.

HA-HA. yes, evenually everyone becomes a criminal with these law. Ironically I usually spot unmarked police cars and radar traps and know where all the red light cameras are but in this case I was taking a short trip back home and got lazy. My fault.
