No kidding. “Immigrant advocates” are full of *bleep* and they know it. Unless you are completely underground, you can’t operate in this country without an ID. Cash checks, obtain credit, house, apartment, utilities, drive, fly, work, legally you need an ID. At least I always have, but I’m just a citizen.

Pardon me, but...

Immigrant advocates say the new law will leave some illegal immigrants without a form of identification.

Sorry, couldn't let that stand.

We do not accept them because anyone can buy one for $5.00 on the street.

But I'm sure they are good enough for IRS unearned income tax credits, tax refunds, section 8 housing, food stamps, and carte blanche medical care at any medical facility. They are also fine for school enrollment and college grants and school loans. Now stop this nonsense and go back to work. SOMEBODY has to pay for all this!

.... Immigrant advocates say the new law will leave some immigrants without a form of identification.

Egad's, a side benefit for law abiding citizens of Arizona and America?! If so then we can use a lot more of that kind. Adios to the illegals.

.... Once the banks had the express permission of the federal government to do business with illegal aliens, they went full tilt, by signing up, literally, tens of millions of illegal aliens for US credit cards, auto, home and business loans. ....

And that's why we have 24% (and higher) credt card interest rates to day as well. Someone has to make up for all that credit card default these illegals cause. Illegals aren't the only ones (I know) but they make up a huge percentage of those defaults.

That's a good suggestion about moving an account from a pro-illegal alien bank to a pro-american citizen bank. I think I'll do just that. Thanks!

It is not required that banks accept it.

True. The banks did it because the Bush administration also changed the banking regulations to grant CRA credit to those banks who served the "minority market" by offering low-cost remittance services. Which is to say by offering illegal aliens a low-cost way to send money they earned illegally in the US to their family back home in Mexico.

But, the only way banks would do this was to, more or less, force illegals to open bank accounts and to put their money into bank accounts instead of hiding it under their mattresses, as had been the tradition.

So, not only did the banks make money off the illegals' remittances and interest from the various credit services, but they also got the use of the illegals' money.
