Just curious. Are you fluent in Japanese or do you fine tune the work of those who are?

I suggested over a month ago that they use Hiroshima survivors because they are pre-radiated.

Interesting if they went on to live to be 140 years old after the cleanup.

Most people in the office are total dorks. The only Japanese male friend’s I hang out with are those in partying rock n roll circle, other than that, I wouldn’t want to be seen around most Japanese guys. It’s the girls that are really impressive though. The older generation has the geeks beat by miles.

Not that I'm aware of, but you never know. Mie Hama was probably the cutest Ama ever!

Gotta respect the Nipponese. They run a trade surplus, they do their best to keep jobs in Japan and keep people employed which is a lot better than America. About 15 years ago in the WSJ there was an article about some Japanese homeless due to their economic difficulties. So these older men had to camp out in parks. Every day they would get up early and start sweeping and cleaning up the place plus they had some communal meals set up. They were disciplined and orderly despite being homeless ...most likely temporarily

They were barbaric in WW2 but I have no problem with them otherwise...plus I respect their culture and way of doing things

Just like any race, I try my best to befriend everyone but I usually hang out with dudes who I know I will have a great time with. I also have Filipino friends who make other white people look like wallflowers.

It’s getting difficult to read about how wonderful the Japanese people are without getting teared up. My prayers for all of them ...

My hero!

I’m part of the team which subs Deadman Wonderland and Steins Gate...

The brainy, cute girl in Steins Gate is half-American (or the character is..)

Steins Gate sounds familiar.

Deadman Wonderland sounds a little dark, but I’ll check it out.

Geez, I’ve watched so many animes lately, it’s hard to keep them straight.

Keep ‘em coming and I’ll keep on watching! :)

Deadman raws we’ve been getting are censored versions, just to give you an idea. Steins Gate is about time travel. I don’t volunteer for any loli’ stuff like K-On etc and even turned down X-men, even though I love Madhouse productions.

This summer, I “might” be interested in either Blade (that Blade from Marvel) or Blood-C (from Blood series), and the Appleseed OVA. If it’s not one of the 3, I’ll lay low until the fall and “prolly” help out my buddy who runs myanimelist in Irvine.
