Named after a Navy vet president; OK by me. Surprised it wasn’t sooner.

Sooner? The last USS John F Kennedy was just decommissioned in 2007. I have no problem with his name on a carrier, I just wish they had gone with a more historical name this time around.

It did happen sooner. I am not happy with this decision.

Kennedy’s service in World War II was certainly honorable, but getting your PT boat T-boned and sunk by a much slower Japanese destroyer is scarcely heroic.

I can understand ONE aircraft carrier named after him. He was popular with servicemen and showed significant backbone dealing with the Soviet Union — but two???

It’s the 2nd carrier named JFK. The other was CV-67
