gawd I HATE that song.

Local radio station in San Antonio played that song at least 10 times in a 12 hour workday while I was at Air Force basic training in the mid 70’s.

It got to where we were going to throw the radio out the window when it came on.

Yeah I can understand that it is almost the same way I felt about Country Joe Fish and his 1234 song, I never heard it till I got back to the States in 69 and if I had not been in pretty sorry shape I would have paid him a visit and showed him some of the things Uncle Sam taught me!
That bring your son home in a box got to me, I still hate the SOB!

LOL! I used to feel the same way about "Wabash Cannonball". When I served on sea duty, I was awakened well before reville most days by that song coming up to our berthing compartment from a machine shop a couple of decks below. An early rising snipe played it at full volume to start his day!

Great tune though; I've got to do a lyrics rewrite about Sarah's bus tour to it.
