Sarah Palin now the favorite for the Republican nomination for president

As we have often stated in these columns, Sarah Palin is consistently underrated by Republicans, Democrats and media alike as a possible contender for the White House.

Now with the Republican field imploding in the past few weeks, suddenly Palin is back in the limelight again.

Truth is she has never given up her ambition.

She looks at this Republican field and sees huge weaknesses, from Mitt Romney's flip flops to Newt Gingrich's womanizing to Tim Pawlenty's lack of charisma.

Sure she ceded the stage to Donald Trump's ill-fated run, but it was always clear that Trump would eventually slink away once he had milked it enough.

Now Sarah comes swanning back into the limelight and no one has a hold on the Tea Party and Conservative wing like she has.

She has now moved to Arizona, a clever move in the circumstances which places her in the heart of the Republican belt.

She is running all right and has the backing and support others can only dream of.

She would easily win Iowa with its massive evangelical base if it was voted on tomorrow.

With that under her belt she automatically becomes favorite in new Hampshire.

If she could knock Romney off there the path to the nomination is clear.

We all thought Hillary would be the first major woman candidate for president nominated by her party.

We have to adjust out bifocals folks, here comes Sarah and she is running hard.

Good for her.

Been here three months, don’t you want to make it four? By the way, dig your ‘Canon’.

I can’t wait till she declares. It will feel good to have a candidate that I can support without reservation and with a clear conscience.

Not surprising, only RINOs and Liberals hate her and that makes her even more attractive to rock-ribbed conservative patriots.
I think it should be a FR rule that any who attack any candidate should first say who they support.
But then again, the many Mittbots here trash Sarah all the time and they CAN'T identify themselves as such without the fear of a JR MEGAZOT.
I like Cain,Palin,West,Bachman and Perry.
The rest, with all due respect, smell like toe jam and smegma.

Palin, Cain, West, Bachman. I’m happy to have such choices.

How massive is Iowa’s evangelical base?
Is AZ the heart of the Republican belt? Several states have a more consistent Republican voting record than AZ, such as UT, KS, ND, ID, etc

I doubt any foreign scribbler has a clue about what drives American conservatives. Most lib American scribblers don’t have a clue. This idiot thinks everyone who supports Palin is an evangelical, bible-thumper. Bible-thumpers are welcome, but the people who support Palin, like me, do for it for many reasons. I like Palin because she understands conservatism, the constitution, and why America is great.

I love it that Giuliani’s in. A few years ago, there were too many conservatives running and they split the vote. Giuliani’s implosion on the liberal side allowed the non-conservatives to coalesce around McCain. This time around, there are many liberals running, so conservatives would immediately and strongly coalesce around Sarah Palin. As long as there are no fake third parties, we would have not only a good shot at defeating Obama, we would actually have a genuine fiscal conservative and communicator in the White House for the first time since Ronald Reagan. Just like Carter ushered in Reagan, I hope Obama successfully reminded people why they usually don’t vote for leftists to the White House. Unfortunately it seems the US needs one of those wake up calls once every generation.
