Silly girl.....that would be asking too much.
My Dad just happened to be in DC for a CBI reunion when the WWII Memorial was opened....they were found and escorted to the ceremony. I even saw him on tv during the coverage. It was special for him, and purely an accident.
Glad you had the day off. I had to work yesterday, am getting ready to go in today (but just a couple hours I hope...I think I can finish from home), and then tomorrow off.

Drew a nice crowd, from what I saw.
The WW2 re-enactors had a bunch of people. They had setups including a .30 machine gun, a 60mm mortar and not a few rifles, one with a grenade attachment.

I bet that was something to see!
Wish I could have been there!
What kind of foods did they have?

BBQ chicken and wings, fries, hand-shaken lemonades, and fried chicken.
All good stuff!

I didn’t see any cones, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any.
One by one a rider appeared with the loudspeakers blaring the five service tunes (”Anchor’s Away” for the Navy, etc.), and then a smoke grenade went off, and out of the smoke came a rider with the POW/MIA flag (I didn’t know the tune they played). Nice touch!

Wow..
That IS a nice touch!
I will be riding in a parade tomorrow with a fellow PGR gal.
I’ll be in the sidecar of her Russkie bike!
LOL

Be sure to take a pillow, to be comfortable - I’ve heard nasty things about sidecar riders - on your knees, banging against the frame, etc.

Yargh!
That’s all I need is my knees banging on the frame of the sidecar.
