You might be surprised, but look at about half the Herman Cain threads right here on FR and you will find a some FReepers who agree with them.

Since we’re racist no matter what, we might as well just embrace it.

Race was a factor in Obama’s election, dumbass.

I support Cain for many reasons. His race is just a footnote that I think can ultimately be used as a political tool (because the Dems will beg for it to be by their actions) to throw back in the Left’s face. I don’t like it, but, if they want to bring a knife to a gunfight, let ‘em. I’m tired of all the PC bullsh*t.

More than a few Freepers have posted here that having Cain or West on the ticket would take the ‘race card’ away from Obama.

Herman Cain probably did overcome a lot of racism on the way up the ladder, but he overwhelmed it with talent, and I don’t hear him whining about it.

I have to admit, I have never gaxed upon the visage of Herman Cain; at least not that I can remember. hey, I’m a little disconnected at times. They say the “Godfather’s Pizza” guy, and an imagee of the Italian mob like spokesman they used to have pops into my head. Talk about great advertising!

Anyway, if it weren’t for this left squawking about how racists conservatives are, I’d still not know he was black.

It only becomes an issue when the professional race-baiters are promoted by the race-baiting media. Ignore these pimps and move on.

“Guest: ‘Race’ A Factor In Republican Support For Herman Cain”

Whether there is an “element of race” in those Republicans who support Cain, I can’t say.

But I can and will say this:

There certainly is an “element of stupidity” in ANY Republican who thinks that Mr. Cain’s race is going to help him win the vote of blacks over Obama. If I recall, Obama won with the support of roughly 96% of black voters.

Prediction:
Mr. Cain will change Mr. Obama’s numbers by no more than 4-6%, if that much. In an Obama/Cain contest, Obama would cakewalk away with upwards of 92% of the “black vote”.

Blacks DO NOT VOTE for black candidates on the Republican ticket. Quite conversely, they will view them as “uncle Toms” and “race traitors” and vote AGAINST them.

This is true in races where the democrat happens to be white and the Republican is black (wasn’t the recent contest in the Memphis area like this? Who won?).

It is “hands down” where BOTH candidates are black. If anything, it will make it EASIER for blacks to “vote democratic” (they’re not only “voting for the party”, they’re “voting for one of us”)

Mr. Cain looks to be quite a guy, and I could vote for him on the Pubbie ticket. I _will_ vote for him against Obama.

But those who believe that “because we have a black running on our side” is going to siphon votes away from Obama — you’d better rethink that....

Just sayin’.....

Disclaimer: for all those who consider the above post “racis’”, I have previously voted for a black (U.S. Representative Gary Franks) Republican who ran against a white (’rat) opponent. Voted for Mr. Franks at least twice. For me, it was less a question of “race” than one of political representation... But I’m a “Euro” guy...

“’Race’ A Factor In Republican Support For Herman Cain”

The headline is a TRUE statement.

If Herman Cain were a white guy, no one would have heard of him.

If Herman Cain were a white guy, his chances of getting the nomination would be less than zero (which are his chances right now)

If Herman Cain were a white guy, the white guilt crowd (including those here on FR) would have to find a new guy to support. Maybe Alvin Greene?

If Herman Cain were a white guy, he'd be too old

If Herman Cain were a white guy, he'd be to sickly (cancer)

If Herman Cain were a white guy, he'd be laughed off the stage as a world affairs novice who didn't even know what the Palestinian “right of return” is.

If Herman Cain were a white guy, he'd be laughed off the stage as a domestic affairs novice who didn't even know what the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration is.

(During GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain’s campaign announcement on Saturday, the former pizza executive took a moment to lecture the country on its need to “reread the Constitution”:) (campaign announcement ?????, no off the cuff mistake here)

CAIN: We don’t need to rewrite the Constitution of the United States of America, we need to reread the Constitution and enforce the Constitution. … so for the benefit of those who are not going to read it ...... “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” don’t stop there, keep reading. Cause that’s when it says “when any form of government becomes destructive of those ideals, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it.”

Herman Cain resume:
Columnist
Radio talk-show host
Chairman and CEO of Godfather's Pizza
Deputy chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City
Department of the Navy?
Coca-Cola business analyst.
Pillsbury vice president
Burger King managing 400 stores
CEO of the National Restaurant Association

If this isn't presidential material, I'm the Pillsbury Doughboy, or Rush Limbaugh, or The Burger King, or Don Corleone, or Ernest Borgnine, or Ben Bernanke, or Frank Rich, or Frank Mason Robinson.

Perpetrating this and expanding it, just gives it legs. Just ignore it. Let it bounce off like teflon and stay ON MESSAGE...do NOT slip into this discuss as it is their narrative and puts Herman Cain supporters on the defensive. We can expect far worse from them if he is a true threat. Save your firepower!!

If you are on the right side of the aisle, you are so obsessed with race that if you go black, you are a racist, and if yo go white, you are a racist. If you go Asian, yep, racist. If you go Hispanic, RACIST. Whatever someone conservative does is RACIST because they are all RACISTS and can never think of anything but race.

If you are on the left side of the aisle, you are obviously race-blind and nothing you do is racist, including derogatory stereotyped cartoons, calling blacks “clean” and “articulate,” giving privileges to one race over the other. Because you don’t let race influence anything you ever do, you are allowed to call everyone else a racist.
