That reminds me of the map I looked at early which showed the locusts emergence. A fitting description.
That map captures two things, really. More hispanics live along the Mexico border, for obvious reasons of proximity. And, they live in satellite regions where farming and agriculture is abundant. The same could be said about African-Americans, to a certain degree. Within Texas you find more of them near the historic cotton farming regions. Dallas, Ft. Worth, east Texas. Not as many of them around San Antonio because it was a little too hot and poorer soils for growing cotton back in the day. They also exist (African-Americans) in other southern states where cotton was abundant. And, in Louisiana where sugar cane was grown and harvested. This all dates back to the slavery days.
