So where is the money from the $8 toll going?

TZ Bridge is $5 because it isn't in NYC. The GW Bridge is $8, because it is.

Bear Mountain Bridge near Peekskill is $2, and I-84's Harriman Bridge near West Point/Fishkill is $1.

The further away you get the cheaper you get.

The Bear Mountain Bridge is very scenic and is near West Point. The I-84 Bridge is between the Beacon Fishkill area and Newburgh. Lived in various town around those parts most of the time from 1956 thru 1983, including Monroe and New Windsor.

If the Tappan Zee Bridge goes out, it will destroy the economy of the northern suburbs or NYC.
