I doubt seriously that the widow contacted the attorney. I bet he went to them because this case has screamed lawsuit from the moment that those cops on the scene realized they unloaded their weapons on someone who hadn’t fired a shot. It took a week for that to reach the news media. (I could be wrong about timing. That was a busy week in our household.) But law enforcement circles would have been buzzing with the news the first day. The Pima County Attorney’s office would have known. There are lots of people looking to make political hay over anything. This case would do it.
The person you are addressing would have been one of the stupid, adrenalin-junky dip**** cops who pulled the trigger. There is no doubt about it.
