Step away from the keyboard for a moment. Breath into a paper bag, then read this:

For Palin to win and I don’t mean the nomination, but the Presidency, she will have to move into the mainstream. That’s a fact of American Presidential politics.

To do that she’ll need to triangulate, just like Reagan did. That’s hard on us because we want her to stay just like she is. At some level she’ll have to moderate to tie up the mushy middle. What’s the alternative?

The mainstream moves toward her. Obama needs to be wounded deeply in the mind of the mushy middle for Palin to win. She cannot win without them and she’s damaged goods right now.

What does Palin’s general-election moderate/independent vote strategy have to do with the tin-ear idiocy of this Romney stunt?

With Palin conservatives have a real chance to get a conservative win in a Presidential primary.

As she and Romney fight for the first and second place in that race, I support Palin.
