I started to say, Ansel, at least there's one area that he's obviously not so Mormon devoute -- Mitt's pro-abortion stances thru the years...until I thought, "Oh, yeah..." Mormons allow all these abortion "exceptions"...
...rape of the mom
...need to cover up incest
..."health" of the mom ("health" undefined)
...if the girl/woman's abortionist says it's "OK"...
...if the Mormon god says it's "OK" in prayer communication...
Then you realize that some abortions in Mormon eyes supposedly are ordered or "OK'd" direct from the Mormon god himself!
In regards to the Mormon religion and abortion I was relying on Bishop Romney’s statements in this interview. What is your take?
INTERVIEW:
Jan Mickelson: If they dont think you are a morally consistent Mormon they are not likely to hold their nose
Governor Mitt Romney: I make it very clear. I do not try and distance myself from my faith, in any way shape or form. Ive been asked time and again, will you distance yourself the your Church, will you disavow this practice, and the answer is no.
Jan Mickelson: The point is when you try to hermetically seal them, that makes your potential supporters who agree with your ethics, nervous. Thats all Im trying to say.
Governor Mitt Romney: And so what should I do? I should not have been pro-choice. And so therefore Im just finished right their. Well you were pro choice so you distanced yourself from your faith so your finished. So what should I say?
Jan Mickelson: No, no, I made a mistake when I
Governor Mitt Romney: And every Mormon should be pro-life?
Jan Mickelson: If thats what your Church says.
Governor Mitt Romney: Thats not what my Church says! There are leaders of my Church who are pro-choice. Youre wrong. Thats your problem.
Jan Mickelson: No thats false logic. Your Churchs official position is pro-life.
Governor Mitt Romney: No, no-no, no no. We can continue that conversation
Jan Mickelson: We only have about 30 seconds. Unless you want to stay longer.
Governor Mitt Romney: Ive got to run.
