Democracy is designed for a moral people, but no form of government, nor amount of laws, can make a person, or a people, moral. Sharia is probably the ultimate form of government enforced morality. How's that working out?

You know, comparing moral people who support laws like we used to have against immorality, does not equate to sharia.

Almost every law on the books is a law that regulates moral behavior. Murder is a moral issue and illegal. Should we remove the laws for that because it has a religious basis?

What about theft? That's a moral issue grounded in religion.

Lying and perjury? Same there.

Vandalism and destruction of another's property? That's a moral issue based in religion.

Take a look at all the laws which regulated moral behavior at the time the Constitution was written. Those were not considered unconstitutional.

I've never seen it work out well for someone who implies that a legal system based on the Judeo-Christian value system is equivalent to islam and sharia.

Good luck with that.

Oh, and IBTZ.....

Comparing those who support traditional aka “Real” morality to Fred Phelps and the Taliban is not only a cheap shot, it’s actively offensive and I’m sick of it.
