Good. They should be snubbed. He doesn’t deserve that medal on an academic basis and the Society deserves the snub for awarding him any such medal.

Err, uhh...if the young scientists were Muslim I would have happily accepted the invitation so I could make them feel better about... as I have said many times in the past... their enormous contributions to science, just like I asked my NASA director to do.
[ But in the interest of fairness, if he had accepted the medal, we would have made fun of him for that, too. ]

That's what I'd like to know. AFAIK, he hasn't done S@*% to further scientific research in the U.S.
Unless one counts requiring muslim outreach as being a mission goal for NASA.
