Looks like a Mexican standoff. I think the Texas legislature will fold since the Feds can shut down air travel whenever they feel like it.

No idea why the federales would shut down airtravel. All they need to do is get one of the gropers arrested by Texas authorities and walk into court immediately and say "in the performance of his duties" and the judge will turn him loose.

The law is not enforceable as long as the TSA agent is a public employee. If he's a contract employee that might be a little different.

On the other hand if TSA lets the employee be arrested, tried and convicted, and simply shuts down air travel, ALL the TSA employees in the entire United States will WALK OFF THE JOB.

The Department of Justice apparently does not believe in the Fourth Amendment ("The right of the people to be secure in their persons...against unreasonable searches...shall not be violated...")...or else believes its sole purpose is to allow defense lawyers to get their guilty clients off by having key evidence excluded from consideration at trial.

there's no way the Feds will shut down DFW and Houston airports over their groping policy.

There's NO WAY they could be that stupid.

Last thing the dems and the government class want right now is a controversy over profiling vs random searches and wasted $billions...not to mention the issue of government power/control.

I hope Texas moves forward and calls their bluff. If not bluffing...what a wonderful political windfall.
