Yes, the idea of ground penetrating detection is not new. We’ve had this capability for years.
We also use these technologies to see inside buildings, detect land mines, and can surveil even through thick cloud cover. We can also see straight through thick jungle canopy.
However, saying this technology is IR is a gross simplification. The stuff we have, is right out of Star Trek and I really do fear that, left unchecked, Hussein would give it all to the Arabs. You know, to make things fair.
