>>the measure would “hurt and endanger” Latino communities.<<

IMO, this is part of the problem. Large areas of Houston are unrecognizable as American cities.

A subculture within our borders, poverty stricken, Latino gangs roaming the night, most signs / advertising in Spanish, crime rates inproportionatly high...seriously now.

I walked into a Brookshire Brothers supermarket on Houston's southeast side, I couldn't believe my eyes. Try it sometime, it'll alarm the hell into ya.

These people could care less about being American, they do not care to learn English, nor do they care to assimilate into our society.

Latino communities??? Yeah, nice!

I grew up in east Texas. My last three years at home were in Irving. I was up that way a couple of months ago and there was an "El Mercado" (that was the name on the sign) store in the place of the Minyards (which was there when I was growing up). Every store in that center, which we used to ride our bikes across, were like being in Little-Tijuana! Even the T-Mobile store (other than "T-Mobile") were completely in SPANISH!

The homes in my old neighborhood were nice out front, but you could see the little "barrio" buildings in every single back yard! I wanted to cry over the loss of my childhood stomping ground - I truly could barely recognize the city!

Like you said, they have no intention of ever assimilating and even worse, the U. S. Government does not intend to enforce the laws or discourage their unabashed encroachment!!!

Don’t forget big hair kindly brought all those criminals from NOLO to be your neighboors. No good deed goes unpunished, I guess.
