I think it is sad when the government goes to such illegal lengths to hide information from the governed and I don’t hear many conservatives squaking about it or even wondering why and what they are hiding. The government is failing in their duties and needs to be made to perform them.
Yes, I saw how you were treated on some of these threads by the conspiracy mongers. And you even actually got down in the weeds with them and tried to have a rational discussion and got called all sorts of names for your efforts.
These people do not want to have a discussion where they might have to concede to having been wrong. They are die hard conspiracy theorists. Just look at the craziness some of them are buying into now. It's gotten so pathetic that they believe there are smiley faces and secret codes in the "fake" birth certificate now. You just can't reason with this sort of lunacy. What you can do is be voice of reason and denounce this stuff and make it clear to anyone reading threads on FR that we are not a bunch loopy conspiracy theorists. Hard core birthers are a loud minority, that is all. Just like any loud minority, you have to counter them or they will try to shout everyone down and dominate the discussion.

It happened in April 2008. Then it happened twice more, from two different locations.
There are folks here on FR who are under constant harassment via computer hackers, butterdezillion for one.

I contacted the FBI when it happened. My nephew even discovered a ‘shadow site’ of Free Republic, and we let the Admin Mods know immediately.
The FBI didn’t help at all, particularly when I informed them the hacker originated in a Senate office building.
What is demoralizing is the Seattle and Portland FBI offices tried to palm me off on one another!
It would run counter to freedom of speech if Alex Jones or his message or his guests were censored. But they aren’t. They’re on the radio somewhere every single time I turn it on.
It would also run counter to the First Amendment if Corsi was forbidden by the government from appearing on Alex Jones’ show, but he wasn’t.
What we’re left with, then, is Corsi voluntarily going on a show and talking about his issue with someone who has accused President Bush of being involved in the deaths of every American killed during the September 11th attacks.
Think about that for just a minute. President Bush is being accused of knowing that thousands of innocent Americans would die, yet he blithely planned 9/11 and had those thousands executed. In more simple terms, if Alex Jones is right (he isn’t), Bush would be as guilty as Osama bin Laden.
There are things we simply don’t stoop to, because we are decent people. One of those things is associating oneself with people who hate America. Corsi has done just that.
Frankly, if that’s all Corsi thinks of his own work - that it belongs on Alex Jones’ show, where he and his book can join all the other anti-American fruit loops Jones profiles, Corsi has nothing I would ever want to hear.
Well, since I have not pursued an answer to that question (in my opinion, its way below the radar of what is important), I will give a scientific wild-*ss guess.
Alex Jones has a website called infowars.com that is big on conspiracies, tiny on truth, medium-sized on ignorance and rudeness, unpredicatable, and generally ill-liberal.
Perhaps you saw my comparison earlier with Jeff Rense (at rense.com, he is kind of a drudge of consiracy theories, but also leaning liberal).
Then of course, Art Bell used to be the host of "Coast-to-Coast", a radio show of fantastical, paranormal, weirdities, unbelievables, airtime for those proven wrong but still quite persistant, speculative UFO-logists, alien abductees, and much MUCH more! People call in and ask questions, or tell about the latest urban myth their cousin's best friend really experienced, really. For the last ?? years the host is George Nory and I have not been a listener so I cannot vouch for his show or how he hosts it.

The ‘what is’ seems more appropriate. The problem with wierdos like Alex is, they are usually dead wrong in their conspiracies. But once in a while, they hit upon a real conspiracy, and that’s when they scare the bejeebers out of me. How much truth—for instance—is there in the Bilderberger conspiracy stuff? ... Can’t tell, but the night before super Tuesday, one of the prominent Bildeberger families (Diane Feinstein and hubby) along with a few other prominent members attended a ‘dinner’ at Feinstein’s Goergetown home to which Barry Soetoro and Hillary Clinton were summoned (I like that word, summoned, makes the freaks look like the lapdogs they are) and the following delegate caucuses on super Tuesday showed signs of the Hillary camp having been told to stand down, the Kenyan snow klown was going to be given the nomination. ... Don’t ya just love conspiracies? Such fun. And so scary when they are real!
I think the number one problem with Jones theory regarding the Bushes is the scene of the crime. Allowing illegal immigration to explode over free trade and allowing American citizens to be raped,pillaged,robbed and the Crossing of the Delaware to become historically irrelevant and citizenship to be trampled and meaningless,sold like a prostitute while our young men were fighting in Godforsaken Moslem shitholes...yea...Bush & co. are responsible for the destruction of the USA just not from flaming airplanes.

And that BC has some strange characteristics that I can only explain with “Cut and Paste” technology. I'm a EE and computer programmer with 20 plus years, and that BC is looking like a computer generated forgery to me.
