Armed Forces Day
"United in Strength"
Saturday, May 21, 2011
President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday
for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their
patriotic service in support of our country.
On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced
the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy,
Marine Corps and Air Force Days. The single-day celebration stemmed
from the unification of the Armed Forces under one department
-- the Department of Defense.

(If you truly support Sarah Palin and want to be on her busy ping list, let me know!)

Thank you for the ping!
May God Bless and keep the members of our Armed Forces close to Him always. We thank You, O Lord, for the men and women who are willing to fight and die for our freedom, our sacred American way of life, and for each and every one of us. We can ask no more of them after what they have freely given to us.
Protect them, O Lord, and keep them safe.
Amen

I’ve seen the F-22 and Blue Angels at the same air-show. Good complement.
