After an announcement earlier this week that fired University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill was being invited to town to speak over the Memorial Day weekend, the church where he was set to speak has retracted their invitation.
Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Grand Valley, in a statement on their website, cited many members of their congregation with relatives serving in military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan for the change.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Grand Valley will not be offering a venue to the Confluence Media Collective to bring Ward Churchill to speak on Memorial Weekend. While we have a commitment to providing a forum for a wide platform of ideas and people, we had not fully vetted the speaker or the date when we offered use of our building. Some of our congregants have close relatives and friends now serving in the armed services in Iraq and Afghanistan, and have expressed dismay about having Churchill speak during a weekend of remembrance. Because our mission guides us toward unity with one another, we will not be using our time and space to bring a controversial and possibly divisive speaker into our community during such a poignant time.
It wasnt clear if the Confluence Media Collective, a group that publishes The Red Pill magazine and who coordinated Churchills appearance, will try to find another venue for him to speak.
Tranaslation: "Some of our biggest givers threatened to cut off their weekly payments if we went ahead with this."
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Good.
Ward Churchill is a POS.
Should you not have fraud in front of that POS name.
Unitarian Universalist Congregation is not a church. It is a social club.
The Unitarians are boycotting him. It’s a double whammy or something.
Obama is upset. Ward is his favorite Churchill.
I’m 1/128th Indian. That makes me more Indian than this poser.

The fact that this “church” invited this loon who couldn’t qualify for a high school degree tells me all I need to know about it.
Now, for the military types there, get out now. You’re far, far more moral and accomplished than your pastor. Get thee to a real church.
This useless fool can’t do anything worthwhile, so he can only make money by flapping his lips or stealing the work of others. I’m glad he lost this chance to spread his poison.
Glad to know that Church refused to allow him to speak. Personally, I wouldn’t let that man talk to my Dog!!

“Unitarian Universalist Congregation is not a church. It is a social club.”
Worth repeating.
Legend has it that somewhere along the line we had an Indian or two in the family though I have no proof other than stories. I think I’m more Indian than he is! ;)
Ward who? His 15 minutes have come and gone.
