I have been watching Glenn Beck with particular interest this week. His premise that Israel is being set up is absolutely right- leave it to the left to get cozy with our worst, and most evil, enemies. While our politicians pour money into the arab countries, they form alliances with Russia and China. Well hell, they did that with the Nazis and Stalin, too. This should not be a surprise to us. NONE of this should be.
What remains in question, I guess, is up to us. Supposedly, the USA is not mentioned in the Bible, but that might not be true. The book of Revelation says that when the alliance between the arab countries (king of the east) and Russia (king of the north) attack Israel that they will be destroyed by the “hand of God” on the mountains. Now, in the Bible, the “hand of God” takes several forms and it is not always the literal “hand” of God.
If we are blessed enough to run this president out of DC on a rail this next election, perhaps this Christian nation will be the “hand of God”. If BO wins re-election (a notion that makes me a little sick in the pit of my stomach), I guess we can know that we have become a third-world nation that just won’t matter.
Our liberties may well have allowed the enemies of the world, and us, to turn this wonderful experiment in self-governance into a short (biblically irrelevant) historical blip.
Well, that is the first time I have seen that interpretation of Revelations...and I have seen a slew of different interpretations.
While a nice interpretation there is no real way to back up that idea.
A better place supposedly in revelations to find the USA, since Revelations is all about symbols, is when some interpret the people of Israel are fleeing and many are saved on the wings of eagles(symbol for the USA).
"And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent." Revelation 12:14
