Answering questions: Harold Camping, President of Family Stations, Inc.
You have determined May 21, 2011 is Judgment Day. What do you predict will happen?
It might be just one great earthquake, then as it gets to be May 21 in any other countrythere will be a great earthquake there.
So earthquakes could occur around the world for 24 hours? By the end of 24 hours the whole world will be destroyed.
Why is God causing this to happen?
The purpose of the earthquake is three-fold: it will be enormously destructive as God is destroying the earth. Secondly, the people who died as true believers will come out of their tombs with their glorified spiritual bodies and will be caught up to be with Christ.
All of the remains of unbelievers-carcassesthe bones will be thrown out of the grave and be like dung or manurebecause they will be shamed in the eyes of God as a final of consequence of God's wrath.
God created mankind in his image and likeness to serve him, to obey him. But when mankind rebelled against God, they came unto what is openly demanded by the laws of God, which is death.
How do you suggest people prepare for Judgment Day?
The way people of Nineveh prepared when Jonah came there. Jonah said in 40 days God will destroy you. They did three things: One they sat in sack cloth and ashesthey humbled themselves before God. Secondly, they pleaded with God, they begged him that this might not happen. Thirdly, they recognized they were wicked and turned from their sinsthey realized Gods wrath was on them because of their sins.
You have no doubt that all of this will happen?
We know absolutely, without any shadow of a doubt, that May 21 will be the day!

i want to see him interviewed on May 23rd....
Matthew 24:36 But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son,* but only the Father.
So if no one knows there is at least a chance that Camping gets lucky and picks the right day. . . Why is this belief (that God will destroy the world on some unknown day) any more rational than Camping’s belief that God will destroy it this Saturday? Just asking . . .
He believes in predestination.
We shall know on May 13th that he and his family has not been chosen.
If he hasn’t given away all of his assets and property, then he doesn’t believe it himself.
So does this mean I have to clean up my house? =)
We actually are going camping this weekend and we all call it Harold Camping. I'm trying to find a ratty old tweed sportscoat to wear while droning about armageddon around the campfire.
If no one knows when, then by simple logic, no one knows if anyone knows.
Therefore, maybe Camping is one camper who knows, who knows?
Maybe, but all I know for sure is: Don't be grounded when the rapture comes!
“You have to at least give this guy credit for believing what he says. You cant say that about most of the money grubbing televangelists.”
Well yes, but you could have said the same about Jim Jones.
Religion is whatever any person places their 'trust'. Not sure where you get the notion that carcasses are going to get throw out of graves. The flesh body once dead has served its purpose and nobody is going to need it ever again.
There is no scriptural basis for the claims this poor deluded man is making, other than there would be many coming in Christ's Holy Name saying this and claiming that.
I just checked their website and noticed they still have a program schedule up listing Sunday programming. One would think they would have cleaned that off?

Not really. Jim Jones committed suicide when he realized he was under criminal investigation, and, sick bastard that he was, he decided to kill hundreds of other people with himself. It think Harold simply figures, “Eh, time to retire anyway.” He’s done this BEFORE. If he truly is certain, than he is actually insane.
A hypocritical phony is beneath a sincere lunatic in my estimation.
Will it all be carried live on C-SPAN?
“go back to wearing shorts”??? jeezum crow it’s the rapture for crying out loud!at least have some respect for it and put on some trousers and nice shirt/s
A Christian puts his faith in God and His Word. The Bible says on numerous occasions that no man can know the time of Christ's return. The Bible then continues on to say that anyone who makes such a claim is a false prophet. Both of these teachings are in Matthew 24. If you continue to Acts 20, you'll see the teaching that "grievous wolves" will enter the church, and attempt to destroy it from within. This is how I view Harold Camping. He is an agent of Satan, whether he knows it or not.
If you believe in Christ, then you should not be dabbling in the blasphemous rants of someone who clearly is not basing their teachings upon Scripture.
So---I'm just sayin', if you hear of terrible continent-rending earthquakes and mass destruction in Australia Friday (Saturday, the 21st of May there) then be afraid, be ver-r-r-y afraid!
The end comes every day for people. Once to live and then the Judgement
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
