Obama won the Jewish vote in 2008.

He’ll get it again in 2012.

What do you want me to say?

Sadly, you’re probably right. I keeping asking Jewish folks why they keep voting for the party that wants to destroy Israel. I only ever got one answer: “It’s a tribal thing”. I guess a gentile like myself is incapable of gleaning the deeper meaning behind the statement.

My take and PC aside:

1. Jews seem to have a passion for living communally. Perhaps this is a result of their need to protect themselves—rightly or wrongly—from the non-Jewish surrounding community.

2. Jews like to be seen as caring people. When they attend Synagogue it is important to be identified as such.

3. Marxism plays into both those yearnings. Marxism is built around the communal concept and it presents itself as being oh so fair and caring.

4. Some of the code words many Jews—and others like them—use to establish their political credentials is liberal, progressive and socialist. Or, they’ll say “I heard on NPR this morning......”. Identifying oneself with NPR places one among an elite group which is intellectually superior and cares for me more than I do (sarc).

Now, before the name calling starts please have the courtesy of telling me what I have said that is untrue. Baring that, explain to me why Jews seem predestined to repeat the history of the Third Reich.

Marxist countries have demonstrated time and again they’re antisemitic. Marxism itself has failed everywhere it’s been tried. Yet, individually and as a group, Jews seem hell bent on repeating the mistakes of the past. And the part I really don’t like is their dragging me along with you.

My object here is to be enlightened not antisemitism. Onada’s regime is bent on destroying Israel. If his Marxist crowd prevails do you really think annihilating Jews will stop with Israel? Following that will be the inevitable persecution of all people of faith.

Is this really where you want to go?>

Obama won the Jewish vote in 2008.

It seems that way Tzimisce. It is useful to keep in mind that we don't really know how people voted, and certainly not if their votes were applied as they were designated by the voters. Our voting mechanisms have no verifiability and our voters in many states cannot be asked for identification. Israelis, if they haven't yet converted, still have paper ballots, the only secret voting mechanism which guarantees an audit trail.

There are both a suicidal left and right in Israel. The Ultra Orthodox, like welfare families in the US, are completely dependent upon the state for their protection and most of their support. Many of the early immigrants to Israel were the spoiled children of privilege from the US, whose parents protected them from reality, having seen too much of it themselves. Many made Aliyha to Utopian communes in Israel which were made viable for many by trust fund checks from home. They never had to grow up, and never learned to produce, trusting an over-weaning government to think and make decisions so they could experience socialism while having their children raised by "The village."

A good percentage of IDF officers are young Orthodox whose families built the settlement cities in “The territories.” They have little to do with the aging socialists from New York and Chicago who haven't a clue of how many seconds it would take for a missile to travel from the Golan to their apartments in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.

Israel may pay the ultimate price for appeasing the left, a price not unlike paid by all Jews for the ostrich-like behavior of Austrian and German Jews, who simply refused to believe Hitler's goons could garner enough support to be a threat.

I hear the very liberal Jews in my area beginning to voice the same concerns: “Oh he wouldn't really do that!” Yes he would. David Horowitz’ book “Unholy Alliance” captures the doctrinal discipline of communist revolutionaries behind Obama. They are mostly long past having to do more than rhetorical battle, but they absolutely intend on using their current control of a Commander in Chief to further their cause. Principal among their objectives is the disarming of that troublesome example of democracy in the midst of religious dictatorships in the Middle East. And if someone doesn't believe that just find some of the honest testimonials of Obama's reputed choice to replace Hilary as Sec of State, Cass Sunstien's wife Samantha Power. Samantha is Irish born, but with our living Constitution we may see her running for president in 2016 under Sharia law.

You are correct. Curiously, do we now understand the current uprisings in the middle, the engineering of governments, so to speak. Could it be that Obama has his “guys” in place and now the overt turn against Isreal?

Isn’t it odd that Obama’s efforts to destroy Israel makes him less popular among Christians, but affects his support among Jews only a little.
