My Father,
Jewish, born in Lithuania, brought to the USA in 1913, fiercely proud to be an American. Raised his children to be proud Americans. Saw his sons don the uniform of the USA with pride. Many trips to Israel, again fiercely proud of what was built by the survivors of the Holocaust. Died in 1977 at age 69.
This day, his oldest child, a son, ME, must with a sense of grief tell a long missed Dad, “Dad, I am glad that you did not live to see a president of the United States proudly put our country at the side of our enemies.”
